
Avonella Rogers joined the staff at the Urban Health Institute in August 2010 as a Research Assistant. In this capacity she assists in the collection and assembly of data, training, and other endeavors related to diabetes education. Avonella brings a passion for helping and educating individuals excel in their medical and financial health.
Prior to joining SUHI, Avonella was a volunteer for three years at Rush Medical Hospital. There she was responsible for managing tours of high school students interested in a career in medicine, managing patient charts, and assisting various departments with patient care and discharge. She also educated and assisted families in obtaining and maintaining a superior financial health. This zeal stems from her extensive banking acumen in both retail banking and auditing. In addition, she is an Illinois-licensed insurance agent.
Avonella is an active member of Living Word Christian Center in Forest Park, Illinois
