Program Coordinator

The expertise that Donna brings to SUHI’s Block by Block North Lawndale Diabetes Community Action Project team includes 25-plus years of managerial and administrative experience. Over the course of 15 years, Donna worked in progressively-responsible positions in a private university and a comprehensive community college. After leaving higher education, worked several years as Executive Director for the Minority and Justice Commission for the Washington State Supreme Court, and then moved into nearly a decade of work in the field of social services. After working the past three years in the private sector for a management consulting firm, Donna decided that it was time to get back into community service and do something that directly impacts people.
Over the years, Donna has held positions on a number of boards for small and mid-sized nonprofit organizations and also served four years as a commissioner for the human relations department in Tacoma, Washington.
Donna’s professional credentials include a bachelor’s degree in urban studies and leadership, a certificate in management, and a master of arts in applied behavioral sciences. She has also earned a certificate as a diabetes health educator and is an Illinois-licensed insurance agent.
Donna is an active member of Living Word Christian Center in Forest Park, Illinois, NAACP Chicago Westside chapter, and the Red Hat Society.
