Jackie Kanoon joined the Sinai Urban Health Institute the spring of 2011 to serve as a Research Assistant for the Helping Her Live: Gaining Control of Breast Health project.  Jackie started off her graduate career studying the physiology of human reproduction but later turned to public health.  She completed her MPH at the University of Illinois at Chicago, concentrating in maternal and child health issues.  Prior to joining SUHI, Jackie worked as an intern with Illinois Healthy Women, a program that covers family planning services and associated reproductive health care to eligible women without insurance coverage.  Jackie’s personal and career interests include empowering women to become knowledgeable of their own health needs, the resources available to them and assuring access to reproductive health care for all.
