Epidemiologist

Jana Hirschtick, MPH

Jana joined the Sinai Urban Health Institute in 2010 to serve as the Program Evaluator for the Chicago Community Trust, a community foundation that provides funding opportunities for many diverse programs throughout metropolitan Chicago. The Trust’s health grants support projects that promote and maintain health by focusing on healthy lifestyle and behavior choices, health care safety for vulnerable populations, and reducing environmental threats.

Prior to joining SUHI, Jana worked as a research coordinator for the Stroke Sciences Group at UCSF. She assisted several Neurologists on studies focused on genomic prediction of stroke and the measurement of cerebral blood flow. While at UCSF, Jana also served as a statistician consultant for the Positive Health Program. As a consultant, she analyzed the effect of government subsidies on a number of health and wellness outcomes in underserved populations in San Francisco.

Jana is excited to join the SUHI team and contribute to health disparities research efforts in Chicago.
