Patricia Perkins

Professional Summary
Patricia Perkins is currently a Community Health Educator with the Sinai Urban Health Institute and the Sinai Children's Hospital.  Patricia is very excited about this opportunity and looks forward to providing asthma education and assistance to families in North Lawndale and other Westside communities.  

Before coming to SUHI Pat worked extensively as a Community Health Worker and Community Organizer in North Austin under the leadership of Jackie Reed CEO, of Westside Health Authority. During her seven year tenure with the Westside Health Authority Pat worked on many projects including Lead Prevention and Awareness.  Pat also attended a three day Community Health Educator Asthma training at Mount Sinai and she completed Asthma 101 training through the American Lung Association. It was during this time that Pat realized that asthma and community health education was something that she wanted to do full-time.  In March 2008 she also had an opportunity to work on the Helping Her Live project as a Breast Health Interviewer. This was her introduction to working in the North Lawndale community. All of these experiences were very rewarding for Pat.  

In addition to being a faithful servant of God, Pat has been married for 27 years and has five children, four boys, one girl and three grandsons.
