Professional Summary
Pauline McCaskill joined the Sinai Urban Health Institute (SUHI) in July 2008 as a Research Assistant for the Helping Her Live (HHL) project. Her primary role is to assist women in navigating breast health services so that all women in Humboldt Park and North Lawndale have access to quality breast health services. Specifically, she is responsible for responding to and tracking HHL Hotline callers and for creating and managing several databases to monitor and evaluate HHL interventions. Pauline provides support to entire HHL team and the Community Health Educators by making breast health presentations in the community as needed. In addition, before her role as a RA, Pauline was instrumental in helping complete over 2000 baseline surveys with women in North Lawndale about their breast health and mammography history.
Prior to joining SUHI, Pauline worked with Me and My Nana in Atlanta, Georgia, as a hospice care giver and phlebotomist where she provided comfort and end-of-life care for patients. She also worked as a case manager for Heartland Alliance Transitional and Supportive Housing program. In this position, she helped clients who were homeless or victims of domestic find homes and clients who had a mental illness or HIV adhere to their medications. She also assisted clients obtain other social services.
