Tangula Jefferson, BA

Tangula Jefferson joined Sinai Urban Health Institute in February 2011 as a Research Assistant.  Tangula’s primary role is collecting, entering, and managing data for the evaluation of the Block by Block North Lawndale Diabetes Community Action Program.  Tangula enjoys working with others as they grow and prosper as they are living with diabetes.

Prior to joining SUHI, Tangula completed an internship here at Mount Sinai Hospital in the Emergency Department, where she had an opportunity to work with Dr. Les Zun on several research projects.  Following her internship, she went on to become a volunteer here at Mount Sinai where she worked with Volunteer Services.   Prior to becoming an intern, she was employed with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) as an Administrative Assistant in a Westside High School.  She was responsible for setting goals and objectives to enhance organizational efficiency.  She managed the front office operations and provided impeccable customer service.  Additionally, she generated a variety of documents including monthly reports and statistical documents.

She is married to a wonderful guy and they have two adult children.  Tangula is very excited to be a member of the SUHI team and she is looking forward to the many different experiences to come.
