Professional Summary
Lolita Lopez joined the Sinai Urban Health Institute part-time in December of 2007 as a Breast Health Supervisor for Humboldt Park under the Avon Community Grant. Lolita has worked with the Institute in various capacities since 2004. In 2005, she analyzed several community focus groups on pediatric obesity in Humboldt Park for the organization CO-OP HP (Community Organizing for Obesity Prevention Humboldt Park) and developed recommendations, many of which have translated into programs/services that are now available in that community. Lolita also coordinated the Latino Diabetes Summit in Humboldt Park through a partnership with Rush University Medical Center and the Sinai Urban Health Institute. Lolita has extensive experience with qualitative data collection and analysis. She contracts with various organizations and institutions to assist in qualitative research on health issues ranging from asthma, and obesity to diabetes, and aging. In addition she holds a part-time position with the Illinois Maternal and Child Health Coalition as a Research Associate on their Maternal and Infant Mortality project; she assists in both quantitative and qualitative data analysis and in the development of a statewide strategic plan to reduce the racial disparities in maternal and infant mortality.
