 Professional Summary
Charlene recently joined the Sinai Urban Health Institute in October of 2007. Charlene is the Smoking Cessation Coordinator on the North Lawndale Smoking Cessation Program, a community-based intervention funded by the Illinois Department of Public Health. As a former resident of the North Lawndale community, Charlene brings a wealth of personal and professional resources. Charlene is passionate about connecting and developing community-based initiatives to reduce the various disparities experienced by the residences of the North Lawndale Community. Prior to joining the Sinai Urban Health Institute, Charlene worked on various community-focused research projects pertaining childhood obesity, asthma, diabetes, and high risk teen behavior. Charlene’s background is in behavior science and health promotion with an interest in developing community-based programs to eliminate health disparities. Education
