 Professional Summary Danielle joined Sinai Urban Health Institute (SUHI) in the fall of 2006 to evaluate the West Side Healthy Start Program run by Access: an affiliate of Mount Sinai Hospital. West Side Healthy Start is a federally funded maternal and child health program. In her primary roll as an evaluator, Danielle has helped to ensure grant compliance as well as contribute to program development. Recently, she has committed herself to other research projects pertaining to ectopic pregnancy and high blood pressure. Danielle’s primary research and career focus is maternal and child health. In turn, she is also interested in the study and improvement of socio-economic and political factors that lead to a decline in this specific area of health. Prior to joining SUHI’s staff, Danielle was involved in two related international health projects. During the summer of 2006 she served as a health analyst for an engineering project in Southeast India. Specifically she facilitated a health assessment in a remote village to examine water quality effects on health with a particular focus on women’s groups. During the summer of 2005, she assisted in an epidemiologic study of gynecological morbidities and health related quality of life in Hermosillo, Mexico.
